About

Tom is a physiotherapist with a strong interest in the management and rehabilitation of all sporting and musculoskeletal injuries.

Combining experience in physiotherapy, strength & conditioning and high performance sprint coaching to craft effective solutions and performance outcomes for a broad range of sporting injuries, he is passionate about working collaboratively, using a wide variety of tools and approaches to achieve outstanding outcomes.

Tom brings experience across the full spectrum of upper and lower limb injuries, but brings particular experience managing a range of knee, foot and ankle injuries, tendon pain, bone stress and running injuries. He works closely with a number of sports & exercise medicine and orthopaedic specialists in managing complex sporting injuries and is heavily involved in track & field, regularly called upon to assist elite athletes with both injuries and performance.

Tom has completed further training in the management of acute and traumatic knee injuries, strength & conditioning, running biomechanics and return to sport testing, as well as advanced coaching accreditation in track & field and strength & conditioning.

Outside of physiotherapy, Tom has over a decade of experience in performance coaching, particularly in sprinting and strength & conditioning, where he has been heavily involved in the daily training and management of national and international level Australian track & field athletes. He has also had a long involvement in Australian football as an athlete, physiotherapist and performance coach.

Experience

Tom currently works across clinical consulting and sporting settings as a physiotherapist and performance coach.

He currently consults across two specialised clinics in Melbourne, Australia, with a focus on the management and rehabilitation of complex lower limb and spinal injuries.

Additionally, Tom is a touring physiotherapist with Athletics Victoria at national track & field events, is the lead physiotherapist for the Next Generation Academy at the Collingwood Football Club, and a respected sprint performance coach.

Tom previously held coaching and consulting roles in the education sector with a particular focus on strength & conditioning, athlete development and track & field.

He consulted in musculoskeletal and general physiotherapy prior to narrowing his focus to sports physiotherapy late in 2023.
